Cascina Serre di Mario Rivetti

Origins:

As it is today, the company is the brainchild of Mario, who in the late 1960s began to ferment grapes and sell his wines – an activity that his father Pasquale had already started with wine-growing.
Mario Rivetti passed away all too soon, leaving the family company in the hands of daughters Lorena and Anna Maria. Steered by women, the company is run respecting the environment. For years it has been committed to integrated crop protection to respect the vine’s natural cycle.

Territory:

At 350 m in altitude, Cascina Serre’s vineyards stretch over 10 ha. Its most valuable vineyard, Bricco Capre, is also the company’s oldest. Planted in 1970, another of its distinguishing features is its adjacency to the long trail steeped with the history of Fenoglio – now a symbol of the Italian resistance movement. As Beppe Fenoglio wrote: “On this hill the partisans gathered in October 1944 to take Alba which would give origin to the 23 days of Free Republic.”

People:

Lorena and Anna Maria take care of all company management together with their husbands Domenico and Giuseppe.

Hospitality:

Although it is a family company, Cascina Serre can take very large groups.
