Origins:

Cascina Baràc is a holiday farmhouse with classy rooms.
The eye for detail and elegance seem almost to challenge the common conception of “family-run”, demonstrating that a personal dimension and warmth are not in opposition with impeccable service. Here the many years of work and the many extra services offered to the customer are oriented towards one thing: guaranteeing an all-around experience in Langa, leaving no room for regrets. This is another reason why for a year now Cascina Baràc has decided to challenge itself to start fermenting the grapes that surround the estate in its own cellars. Albino, husband of the owner, had long harboured this desire – almost a dream – given his disposition and background. The foundations for it to be done have formed at the right time and under the right conditions: the growth of the children and the consolidation of the business. This is a satisfaction worth sharing with the tourists, which from now on will find Baràc wines on the holiday farmhouse’s tables.

Territory:

Located on the border between Alba and Treiso, Cascina Baràc may be considered an emblem of its terroir. Renovated in wood and stone from Langa, the old farmhouse is surrounded by 15 ha of vineyards, mainly planted with Nebbiolo, a desirable local grape variety that yields, among others, Barolo and Barbaresco.

Wilma Piazzo, the owner, works alongside husband Albino Bonelli, who manages the winery.

Hospitality:

Finely furnished rooms with a view, buffet breakfast with typical local products, typical dishes paired with wine made in-house – these are just some of the characteristics of the Baràc House’s hospitality, to which the winery tours and tastings have been added just recently. Here’s an interesting tidbit: here guests can rent bicycles to venture out into the lands which have become World Heritage Sites and get the chance to learn how to hunt truffles in the surrounding woods.
