Poderi Colla

Origins:

The Colla family boasts over 300 years of history in the winemaking industry, which started with Carlo’s “kegs of black wine” in the 1700s.
Then came Pietro, who brought what used to be called the “champenoise method” to the Piedmont region in the 1900s to produce sparkling wine. His son Beppe made history in the oenology of Alba. A precursor of the vinification of Langa’s great red wines by individual vineyard since 1961, he helped draw up the production regulations for the Alba designations of origin and safeguard the local cuisine. With this strong heritage, Beppe’s brother and daughter, Tino and Federica, founded Poderi Colla, which with its deep-rooted tradition is committed to a production process that respects the environment and the health of human beings.

Territory:

The family’s three properties are located in places emblematic to this territory: Cascine Drago in San Rocco Seno d’Elvio di Alba, Tenuta Roncaglia in Barbaresco and Dardi Le Rose in Bussia di Monforte d’Alba.

People:

Tino Colla and his niece Federica run the company with the collaboration of oenologist Pietro Colla (Tino’s son).

Hospitality:

Small groups are accepted by appointment only from Monday through Saturday at a small museum of documents and farming and winery equipment. You can take a walk through the vineyards and the company’s woods.
