Azienda Agricola Metilde
Origins:
Springing from a long family tradition of winemaking in the late 1990s, the company Metilde owes its name to Mario Sandri’s mother.
Its production is oriented towards quality rather than quantity and follows clear-cut convictions: ageing in steel to keep from covering up the wine’s taste and Passito di Moscato is only made when the vintage is suitable.
Territory:
The setting is a farmstead in Madonna di Como, cru of Dolcetto in the hills of Alba, an area with enchanting landscapes, described in Poesie di Mario.
People:
Winemaking technician by profession, poet by “necessity”, Mario Sandri tends to write down every nuance that appears in his wine or change in landscape that could change the product’s taste, which ends up turning into creative writing. His dedication to liqueur wine started at a young age, during a harvest in France. Since then his name has been given to the Passito “Seren”.
Hospitality:
Mario Sandri is at the head of the company, flanked by his family; he welcomes visitors by appointment both during the week and on the weekend.
